The establishment of the Abu Dhabi Weightlifting Club, represents an important step for this sport in the country in general and in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in particular. It comes within the framework of the rational leadership’s keenness to provide all forms of sports to the emirate community, and to pay attention to the Olympic sports and the champions industry. Abu Dhabi Sports Council, headed by H. H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan who always supports sports and athletes, is keen to achieve it.

The club’s board of directors has designed its plans and programs, so that this sport becomes a popular sport among all members of society. Thus, the club establish players who are able to compete in all championships locally and externally by providing scientific training programs and the best equipment and technical cadres.
